Lost in the Deep is a solo journaling RPG where you are the last surviving dwarf. The comrades that came with you to reclaim the Kingdom Under the Mother Mountain have fallen. Your resources and thoughts of reclaiming the lost kingdom are running short. Instead your goal is to make it out alive. Even though navigating the mountain should be in your blood, somewhere along the path you lost the way and now find yourself trapped in the deep.
You play the game using a standard deck of card, a D6 dice, 10 coins or tokens, and a block tower. A notebook, computer, or the wallpaper of your basement to write on is also required.
All your stories will begin with, “Since we arrived at the Kingdom under the Mother mountain, 187 days have come and past. Now I, [your dwarven name], am the last survivor of our band. My companions have all fallen victim to the machinations of that ancient evil we unwittingly awakened in our foolish search for the treasure left by our ancestors. Now the evil in the shadows and its minions are behind me, ever near. I must find the stairs that will lead me out, but I have no idea where they might be. I still have water and rations for a few days. I hope I can make it.”
Once your journey begins the game will guide you through writing prompts to spark your imagination.
